modern vintage has been created to bring you a hand-picked selection of great vintage pieces, along with modern jewellery and accessories to complement them. Our aim is to offer a carefully edited collection of wearable vintage – pieces you really want to wear! We scour jumble sales, markets and fairs, both in Australia and overseas, for those one-of-a-kind items.

We love accessories at modern vintage – even if you're not a devotee of vintage clothing, you can add caché to an outfit with a great vintage bag or necklace. Vintage homewares are also included in our range. If you want to create a unique living space, choose a few pieces and add individual style to your home. In these days of cheap mass production, it’s truly satisfying to find something special. And as well as looking fabulous, the other great thing about vintage goods is that they’re recycled!

Together we have over 25 years of experience in the vintage trade. Jacqui has owned several shops and was one of the founding partners of well-known Sydney vintage shop Zoo Emporium, which she co-ran for 14 years. Roger has worked in a variety of areas and has loved wearing vintage clothing since his teenage years in London.

We currently own and operate mrs peel, located in the Blue Mountains village of Leura (see our contact details for the address). If you're in the area, pop in to the shop and you'll find an extensive collection of vintage and new items for guys and girls. You'll also find lots of interesting wares that don’t make it to the website.

If you want to see anything from the website in person, just phone us in advance to arrange an appointment. And be sure to look out for us at the annual Fifties Fair, held each August at Rose Seidler house in the Sydney suburb of Wahroonga, and the twice-yearly Vintage Clothing Fairs, held at Sydney’s Canterbury Racecourse.
